Even in the middle of winter, there are some of us who love camping and will look for cheap camping equipment for camping even if we aren’t heading out any time soon. If you are like me, you are always looking for some ways to find bargains.

One place I have recently discovered is any kind of store that sells equipment for people that work out of doors. We have one here in New Westminster that sells rubber boots for fishermen (they are amazingly good!) as well as all kinds of rugged boots for construction workers and inexpensive tarps and rain gear that will help keep you dry.

Another great source is the Army & Navy supply store, which often sells all kinds of equipment for camping at great prices. It won’t be fancy stuff, but it will be sturdy and will always work well. These two places are great for general equipment for camping, but if you need anything specific, I have always found that looking online is a great place to start.

Surprisingly, I recently discovered that Amazon has some great prices, if you know how to look. Here is a good example of a few things I found at a 70% discount that had great reviews and in my estimation were all equipment for camping that I could use. The first is a GSI Outdoors 79480 Collapsible Java Drip Coffee Maker I find this invaluable for making good coffee and yet not taking up all kinds of space. I am always fighting the need for less gear when I go camping. Another cool little item is this little flint fire starter that you can just add to your keychain!

So you see, there are all kinds of places to look for equipment for camping that doesn’t have to cost you and arm and a leg. So maybe this winter, you can do like me and dream of great places to go camping when the weather gets better, and pick out a couple of great and inexpensive pieces of equipment for camping that you know will make the experience that much better when you go.
